How to be safe while baking with kids!
Baking with children can be a very fun activity, however, you must make sure to follow a few guidelines in order to maintain a safe and child-friendly environment. Below, I will list some tips on how to do this.
1) Beware of sharp objects. Whether it is the edge of a can or a sharp knife, children may not be aware of the dangers and can easily hurt themselves. I suggest keeping anything that is sharp or has the potential to cause hard away from the children. If you do this you can assure your child's safety and well being!
2) Keep the young ones away from hot surfaces. The oven and the stove and extremely dangerous when baking with kids. Personally, I like to choose recipes which don't involve the stove or over, but this can be a hard task (most recipes require heat). Before baking, you should have a serious with the children about the stove and oven and instruct them to stay away from them because it can hurt badly if they touch it. Along with this conversation, be sure to keep an eye on the children at all times while in the kitchen.
3) Keep a clean environment. This is to prevent falls or trips which can lead to injury. Make sure everything is picked up off the floor and that the child has nothing they can potentially trip on.
